An Ideal Place for a Fruit Tree Nursery

Warren County is the approximate geographic center of Tennessee. The latitude, nutrient rich soil, and weather make it a perfect place for nurseries. Indeed, the number of successful nurseries in the county has earned Warren County the moniker Nursery Capital of the World. You cannot drive a mile on any major state highway or secondary road in Warren County without seeing a nursery.

Cumberland Valley Nursery

The Bragg family established the Cumberland Valley Nursery in 1902 about four miles Southwest of McMinnville. The nursery specialized in fruit trees and earned a reputation for growing healthy, sturdy trees and reliable service. In 1988 Phillip Pelham joined Cumberland Valley Nursery as a partner. Not long afterwards Phillip bought the nursery and extended the nurseries reputation for quality plants and ethical business practices into the twenty-first century. Today three generations of the Pelham family, Phillip, Nick, and Eli manage the nursery. We grow 133 varieties of fruit trees including 79 species of peaches. Our team plants and nurtures over one million trees each year by hand. Customers include major commercial growers that buy trees by the thousands, small family orchards, and homeowners seeking fruit trees for their yards.
